3TREES in Maldives | The 7000 Social Housing Project

As the leader of high-end coatings from China, 3TREES has always adhered to the concept of “community with a shared future for mankind” and actively implemented the “Belt and Road” initiative to help the relative countries to build infrastructure. The 7,000 social housing project is the largest project that 3TREES has participated in Maldives which facilitated the construction of local human settlements.

ONE BELT AND ONE ROAD

The Maldives has more than 1,000 islands, but the total area is only 298 square kilometers. Due to space constraints, there is a serious shortage of land. The capital Malé covers an area of about 1.8 squarekilometers, but has a population of over 150,000. It is known as the most crowded capital city in the world. On Hulhumale near the capital, only 31% of the population had self-owned housing in 2014, and the average number of people living in each bedroom was about three. Solving the problem of housing congestion has become a top priority for the local government.

The completion of the project could solve the housing needs of 30,000 people, alleviate the housing problem of the Maldives, reduce the traffic environment and social pressures in the capital, help to create a livable environment in the Greater Malé Region and help the Maldives tourism development.

GREEN BUILDING

3TREES provided interior and exterior wall paint for this project. In terms of product selection, 3TREES comprehensively considered the geographical location and functional purpose of the building, provided high-performance interior and exterior wall products to build a green and safe residence.

This project’s location was only a few tens of meters away from the sea, with strong sunlight and a lot of moisture in the air. In order to better protect the walls and reduce the impact of the external environment on the building, 3TREES selected elastic coating for exterior walls. The coating adopts high ductility elastic emulsion. The paint film has strong tensile properties, which can be used to cover small cracks on the wall. At the same time, it has good UV resistance, mildew resistance and salt and weather resistance, even in such humid and rainy weather. There would be no mildew in the paint film in the tropical climate, and it could resist the sun, moisture, rain, with excellent gloss and colour retention that extend the life of the exterior wall of the building.

In the choice of interior wall coatings, in order to avoid the impact of wet weather on the building, 3TREES chose a refined product system with excellent water resistance, excellent alkali resistance that meeting 3TREES Health+ standard to create a healthy and comfortable living environment with multiple protections, allowing the local people to enjoy a comfortable living environment.

COLORFUL MALDIVES

In the choice of paint color, according to the local human landscape, natural color environment and artificial color environment through field investigation, data collection, data research and analysis, etc., 3TREES tried to obtain the unique “urban color character” of Maldives. It was finally determined that the overall building based on low-to-medium lightness gray, and the inner side of the balcony mixed with blue, green, orange, purple and other colors from the bottom to the top of the building, the exterior wall of the building was in sharp contrast with gray, presenting interesting contrasts and fusions between different colors, creating an impressive “city gateway color card”, highlighting the unique impression of the city.

CHINA CONSTRUCTION

3TREES has always been centering on the service concept of “exceeding customer expectations” and providing customers with 361° moving services. In this project, during the product proofing stage, 3TREES took only two days to make 16 color samples for customers to choose from, the efficient response speed was recognized by the project party. During the construction phase, 3TREES actively cooperated with the construction party’s requirements, and the follow-up service was in place in the later stage. In the face of such a large-scale project, the supply was still based on time to ensure that the project progressed on schedule. Throughout the process, 3TREES fully demonstrated Chinese speed and quality, and quickly gained recognition from the local government and society.

At present, the project has been successfully completed, which enhanced the influence of Chinese brands in the world. In the future, 3TREES will continue to devote itself to the “Road and Belt” initiative and to promoting the concept of “Built in China” to the world.
